Christmas gifts for your yoga, barre, or Pilates enthusiast

The shopping season is in full force. Are you struggling to find the perfect gift for your female Pilates/barre/yoga enthusiast? Relax. I work with these women every day, and I've got some great ideas for you:

  1. For workout gear, think Flashdance. Studios are full of women clad in skinny pants, leg warmers, baggy t-shirts, and sweatshirts that fall off the shoulders. For shopping destinations try:
    1. Target (Hit this store for leggings, t-shirts, camis, and leg warmers)
    2. Athleta (Look for all workout gear. I like the shimmer sleepless tank paired with the mudra cashmere sweater, the wood ridge hoodie, the diamond peak tight, and the toasty buns short. Items are priced reasonably)
    3. Lululemon (You can't go wrong she it comes to style, but watch your wallet: everything is expensive. I'd go for the skinny pants; speed tight cozy or skinny groove, and a heavy sweatshirt or sweater)
    4. Nordstrom Rack (Look for cheap tees, athletic pants, & athletic jackets)
    5. J. Crew (Great sweatshirts)
  2. It's hard to find a water bottle that is easy to clean and doesn't leak. My new favorite is by Camelbak
  3. Purchase her one or two personal training sessions. She'll love the chance to get some individual attention to perfect her form
  4. Even the cost of exercise classes adds up. Buy her a punch card for a month of classes
  5. Does she push herself regularly? Book a massage at her favorite salon
  6. Barefoot sports call for well manicured feet. Give her a certificate for a pedicure (or two)
  7. Get her a seasonal vegetable share. Visit local to find out which farms deliver fresh produce, meats, and other seasonal food
  8. Drinking vegetables is all the rage. Get her a juicer and a recipe book so she can begin concocting kale and apple smoothies in January. Vitamix is a good choice
  9. Sign her up for a healthy cooking class. Join her to double the fun
  10. Stuff her stocking with a variety of teas: herbal and green teas are great choices for health minded people
  11. Is she competitive? Does she get motivated by tracking her movement? Buy her a fitness tracker. Just make sure it is one she can attach to her shoe, as they are the most accurate
  12. If she likes to get outside, buy her equipment she can use to break a sweat in the snow: cross-country skis, downhill skis, snowshoes, skates, winter hiking boots
  13. Yoga and Pilates mats get sweaty and grimy. Consider a new mat, or stuff her stocking with Herban Essentials towelettes, which she can use to clean her mat while on the go
  14. Put a colorful headband in her stocking. The variety now popular is wide, made to cover the ears and front of the head. You can purchase one at Athleta, Target, or, if you are a Clevelander, Knuth's
