Exercise makes you smart

You probably already know exercise promotes new muscle growth.  Scientists say it generates new brain cells as well.  In fact, new findings cited in The New York Times Magazine on Sunday indicate exercise enhances cognitive function better than brain teasers and other thinking exercises.

I can't think of a better reason to exercise.

The findings are based on studies involving aerobic exercise.  It is not yet known if similar results would occur based on a strength training program alone.  So, make sure your workouts are well balanced with a mix of cardiovascular and strength training exercises.
